PATRICE: THE MOVIE WINS THE PRIMETIME EMMY AWARD FOR “Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking”

PATRICE: THE MOVIE won the Emmy Award for “Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking” on the exact one year anniversary of our premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and the four year anniversary of our first shoot! I’m so grateful for what this team has given to make this film. It was only possible because of the talents of so many amazing people and their love for Patrice and Garry and Elizabeth.

We all knew that Patrice belonged on the world stage. The other night she took to the Emmy stage and got one of only two standing ovations of the entire night. It was just stunning and very emotional. It was a moment I think all of us had imagined for years and it was actually happening! I will never forget it.
